Poetic

The thing is the typical illegal immigrant stereotype is practically nonexistent. When they say "illegal immigrants," they're picturing people who took their families and snuck over the border and have been laying low for years because they're not citizens. In reality, illegal immigration is a problem in the US not because the government is too lax on immigration, but the exact opposite. Every single step in becoming a citizen and immigrating is a total bureaucratic nightmare. Most illegal immigrants are people who came her perfectly legally and then overstayed their visas, and the government is making it harder and harder for them to stay legally.
