the thing is man..i also have a specialized degree...and if someone online thought i misused a word, I would just say I get it. I would not think they were trying to measure dicks or prove a point. I didn't judge you nor do i think not knowing what metaphor is makes you dumb. You did know the word? Awesome. All I was saying is based on read of your comments, I THOUGHT you didnt know the word. Then I got "upset" becaues you kind of freaked out at me for thinking you might not know a word. These are the longest things i have typed out on reddit. Maybe I am just crazy. like you said earlier like 100 comments ago, I must be knew to this subreddit. No matter how DOUCHEY you come off as, I assume its a result of reddit or as you said, mobile typing. I cant understand how anything I said came off as pompous enough to call me pompous instead of giving me the benefit of the doubt. That is why i said you were defensive. You must be one of the few who does not differentiate between online/verbal communication because I can easily see how my words might come off as douchey in person becuse there would be different context. Of couse if you know what a metaphor is, I would not have assumed you didnt if the conversation was real life. There would have probably been other clues.

However, the reason I deleted my other comments is because you seem to care more about my "pompous nature" than my actual point. I play pokemon sometimes and made a pokemon comment in a thread and someone thought I was a kid. That didn't offend me, but if you tell me that would have offended you, then I completely understand your position. My goal was not to offend you but nothing you say can make me think you are pompous or douchey unless you are being spiteful. Otherwise, I assume you just don;t wanna explain yourself in words via typing because people might get confused regardless. I am just dome dude.Me?
