Points Per Million: A Value Metric

From the ppm list, selecting from top to bottom as formation allows, adding to bench in order of ppm, and using GW1 prices and current points, your team would look like this:

Doherty, Alonso, Duffy, Laporte, Robertson Fraser, Pereyra, Sigurdsson Wilson, Murray

Mitrovic, Maddison, Hazard

= £82.0m

Add the top ppm gk: Ryan [10 ppm]

= £86.5m

Add the next best ppm gk on the bench: Patricio [9.6 ppm]

= £91.0m

And the team looks like this:

  • Ryan

  • Doherty, Alonso, Duffy, Laporte, Robertson

  • Fraser, Pereyra, Sigurdsson

  • Wilson, Murray

  • Patricio, Mitrovic, Maddison, Hazard

Assume Doherty as captain, as he is top of the ppm list.

The only auto sub would have been Robertson in GW10, so add Mitrovic GW10 score (1) onto the total.

= 658 points

This would place in the top 20k Overall Rank.

Looking at this, we can see that the ppm system is an effective metric to guage player performance but by no means the be all and end all. In conjunction with all the other information out there and what we all already know about playing the game, ppm highlights the necessity of value.i

(I know this is muddled, as I've used current price to list players by ppm but am using starting price in this team selection, as that's what you would have paid to accrue the total points as of GW10. However with £9.0 itb, there is budget spare for all price rises, so the point is moot)
