Alright.
Really, all I’m trying do is say ‘I have an open mind’. You said earlier that, on both sides of the debate, people have the idea that certain things should not be questioned, and that also, people shouldn’t be afraid to test those positions if they think they are correct. And as you mentioned that it’s impossible to have a conversation because liberals treat anything other than ‘outright celebration of all things gay as "hate.”’. So I was just trying to communicate the whole ‘open to questioning’ on both sides thing, and I though I’d start by addressing those arguments, rather than treating it as mindless hate. But I can see how those two positions aren’t equal. So I won’t discuss it any further, if you want.
A note on the ‘pro-gay bullying’ you’ve recieved. I understand where you’re coming from. I understand the moral and social position that underlies it; homosexuality seems immoral, homosexual acts an abomination in the eyes of god.
But you have to look at it from the eyes of others. Many people in the world have suffered the worst kinds of persecution due to anti-homosexuality; WW2 veterans lobotomised by the US government for being homosexual, the anti-gay law in Uganda where they want to introduce the death penalty for homosexuality, people kicked out of their homes because their family won’t accept them.
You’ve come out, and you’ve said that homosexuality is immoral, unhealthy, and deviant. Now, I get your position. The bible is a moral authority. But for many people, it seems like you’re just homophobic. And for those people, you complaining about the way you responded to is like a racist posting about how black people are inherently 'deviant and inferior' to whites, than complaining that they were bullied for their position by the PC-squad. I'm not justifying or condemning any side, but that is the mindset that’s motivating it.
