Poker makes me fear death

It's a weird journey poker, because at first you think you understand the game. You learn things like position and odds, and the you begin to decimate your friends.

Then you head to the local card room and give them all your money, then you realize you know nothing, so you learn and study and eventually you do decent in card rooms. Then you can't win with your friends because they don't take it seriously enough and they donk out on you. So then you learn how to play tight and beat that game again.

Then after years of being "good" you head down to the vegas for your first WSOP and you realize once again, that you missed a ton of nuance in each play. Why are you aces cracked every time? It's because people read you as having aces, so once again your game gets a rehaul.

Then two years after playing online and winning a few tourneys, you realize you're a bit better than break even. But wait, your friends all say you're the best among them.

It's such a vicious cycle that many players get lost and just stop along the way, claiming the game is rigged. Most players cannot take the swings.

That being said, I think I've finally figured it out and will be heading to the WSOP, wish me luck! XD
