You have a very good point. Often times my responses are broad spectrum and meant to stir up thought processes in order to look at the bigger picture.

Perhaps dedicating these lands, the endangered animals reside on, as reserves might help mitigate confrontations like this. When all is said and done though, how practical is it that we expect every facet of our intelligence and lifestyle to be mindful of every type of endangered and delicate land, animal or environment? The tricky part is enacting a form of protection for not just polar bears, but all endangered animals in a realistic, effective manner. Any ideas how tours could be regulated to avoid something like this incident?
