Why Polestar and not Rivian might be the best investment in EVs this year

The trouble is that, at least here in the UK, the public charging infrastructure is total garbage. There aren't enough chargers, and they aren't nearly reliable enough. The BP Polar ones are absoltely dreadful, they are SO unreliable it's unreal. I've once gone to SIX different chargers before finding one that actually worked, and even then it charged at half the speed advertised. Not only that but it's an absolute clusterfuck of different companies using different technology to charge these EVs. I have like 10 different RFID cards in my car for all the different networks that I can charge at.

I have a Tesla Model 3 (formed VW owner for a decade), and driving long distance is a total pain in the ass without the supercharger network. The supercharger network is hands down the best, and i've tried them all. It works every single time without fail, I always instantly get on a charge even when busy, and they charge really fast.

While there are plenty of interesting EVs entering the market, and in this space, there's more than just the cars that needs to be addressed here.

Also not sure I agree with VWs being cheaper than Teslas. Compared to the Model S and X sure. But the iD3 is more expensive and less well equipped (and worse spec'ed) than the Model 3 Standard Plus. But I do like the e-Golf. Would be nice to see a Golf R EV, that would be sick.
