Police called on father who didn't look like son

Yes.

Cops in Canada have killed more people since 2007 (the year they killed that guy at the Vancouver international airport who was armed with a stapler) than they did during the entirety of the 20th century.

Civil rights violations are now policy in most provinces

Civil forfeiture in Canada is even more of a monstrosity than in the States: they take your stuff, not without charging you, but after you have been acquitted.

The police kidnap indigenous people, take their shoes and jackets, and then drop them off in isolated areas to die. They even have a cool name for it: Starlight Tours

Police in Canada have a lot more power and a lot less oversight than in most other countries (to make a comparison to the states; the RCMP is the equivalent of the NSA, TSA, DEA, FBI, State, and Local authorities). This used to be a good thing, until those few bad apples rose through the ranks and are now in charge of hiring, training, and policy making.

So, yes, this country needs a change. Not all police officers in Canada are bad people, but the system takes people like this and turns them into inhuman monsters like this.
