Police issue $165,000 in COVID-19 fines, but only two in Sydney's worst-affected area

This is a really big concern I have about the response to COVID-19. As a nation we needed to respond quickly and appropriately and have done so in many ways, but I really get the feeling that the consequences of the restrictions are being felt more by people in the lower socio-economic bracket.

A lot of commentary has pointed out that viral clusters are more common in affluent areas. Most likely because people from affluent areas tend to travel more. But whatever the reason, one has to wonder if the response would have been as robust had this not started off as a 'rich man's disease' in Australia. I certainly hope that this would have been the case.

People in lower socio-economic brackets don't have large homes, pools, tennis courts, gyms, etc,. Their reliance on public spaces is generally much greater than that of the wealthy.
