It's a bullshit statement. She's a woman. The same statistics which show a black person has 2.5 times the risk of being killed by the police as a white person...also show that a man has 24 times the risk of being killed by the police as a woman. Summarily, a white man has almost 10 times the risk of being killed by the police as a black woman.

The fact that people are focusing on this as a racial issue is disgusting, and it's really telling about what society has decided to care about.

If you ask me, this whole thing should be approached as a general issue with police brutality and lack of accountability. Focusing solely on black people just because their demographic is at the top of the list of victims is myopic. But if we absolutely must pick only a single demographic to focus on, why the hell isn't it men? If the statistics prove racism against black people, those same statistics prove 10 times as much sexism against men.
