Everything you mentioned that happens to poor blacks happens to poor whites too. While blacks are poor at a higher rate, it doesn't explain why 13% of population commit 50%+ of violent crimes.

Being poor is being poor. There's no difference between being poor and white and being poor and black.

I wouldn't say arbitrarily. When all your standard SJW excuses are easily dismissed (e.g. your poverty = crime), people are left with only one option.

That poor black communities glorify a violent culture where Role Models talk about how great it is to "cap dat nigga", "bang dem hoes", and "hold up the corner store for their 40". Where someone trying to better themselves is shamed for "actin' like a cracker".

All ignoring the elephant in the room (or running away from it with misused labels like racism/racist) does is make the problem worse.

Just to point out how old this conversation is, this is how the rest of it is going to go if you choose to respond:

• You: Slavery/Jim Crow laws

• Me: What does that have to do with today? I already agreed that the rate of poverty is higher in black communities

• You: Incarceration rates/sentencing differences

• Me: You have a group who disproportionately commit more crimes, of course they are going to be arrested disproportionately. Sentencing differences are easily explained by prior records.

• You: But whites use drugs more than blacks! Why are more blacks arrested?

• Me: Because there is a higher police presence in black communities due to the higher rate of violent crimes. Also people are arrested for possession and not use. Not too many white guys walking the streets with a Joint behind their ear.

• You: But stop and frisk!

• Me: You understand that police are going to be in areas more likely to have violent crimes right? Are you suggesting that police should ignore crimes if they are committed by a black person?

• You: Fuck off and go back to Stormfont you racist asshole

• Me: .... why do I even bother trying to have this conversation on Reddit. Fuck it, this problem doesn't affect me or mine, I'm done here.
