Police officers recorded in Rotherham Eastwood village telling people they're not allowed in their front garden. This is insanity.

Okay lets go through this. If this hasn't been explained to you then that is a failing of those officers.

If the suspects are not recognised by you or any witnesses they are unknown suspects. If the matter was captured on CCTV that footage can be obtained and circulated to see if anyone does recognise them. Forensics will usually only be obtained for serious crimes, but even then forensics will still be consulted to see if they think it's worth attending. Usually for robberies there are no forensics available. On the rare occasion the items stolen can help, for example if card transactions are registered on a stolen card the location of the transaction can be checked for CCTV. Generally mobile phone GPS is not accurate enough for a search warrant to be issued by the courts. Sometimes things like IMEI numbers, serial numbers, bank card details can be recorded to see if they are found later. An example would be when IMEI numbers are recorded on phones when brought into custody.

If there is no known suspect, no forensics, no CCTV, and no further leads all that can be done is the crime be recorded. That doesn't mean the police are dumb, useless, stupid etc. They can't invent evidence for you.

I'm not saying the reason you get robbed is because of your online comments, although your demeanour may have something to do with it. But maybe your attitude is why you don't have positive experiences with police. Maybe that's why they don't or can't fully explain the matter to you. Or maybe they do and you choose not to mention that part of it.

Maybe you could arrest me for being rude to you on the internet? Seems to be the sort of thing you dopey scrotes like to do these days.

Again, another daily mail viewpoint that I'm going to properly explain to you. Police do not trawl the internet for comments. The Malicious Communications Act has existed since 1988. Police have had to enforce these law since the 80s. If someone makes an allegation of a crime to police the police HAVE to investigate it. There is no choice. If some person complains to police that someone has made GROSSLY OFFENSIVE or THREATENING comments by any means of letter, electronic communication or article of any description it has to be investigated and may be illegal. The police didn't write the law, and doesn't actively pursue these crimes. They are almost always reported, and most frequently by a victim being threatened or abused.
