Police officers shove man in Niagara Square to the ground

I was active duty Marine Corps, now in the Army National Guard. Most of the military won't get much, if any, crowd control training.

There is one thing that I would like to point out though: The military is trained to provide medical aid to the enemy once there is no longer a threat.

That is literally part of the Geneva convention. In some cases that means a soldier could shoot someone and be providing that person medical aid shortly afterwards. I was fortunate that I was never in that position, but I can still vividly remember my drill instructors drilling that into our heads. "You do not fuck around when it comes to the Geneva convention!!!"

Watch the video again. The soldier who ends up kneeling down next to the man is not a combat medic. He is carrying a grenade launcher, an unusual weapon for a medic. He is also lacking the giant backpack that you would usually find a combat medic wearing. I have no idea if that soldier sees that man as friend or foe, but I do know that the 2 soldiers are the only people in that video who aren't stepping over him like a piece of trash in the street.
