Police shoot a man to death, say he threatened them with a knife

They tried to taser a man wearing thick clothing. It didn't work. If only they had known that it wouldn't work! If only this was something people knew for a long long time!!?!!

Might as well thrown the taser gun at him instead and see if that disarmed him. Would've likely gotten the same response.

If a man is charging at you with a knife are you really going to take the chance that he really doesn't want to hurt you?

If I asked you to build a rocket using whatever type of rocket fuel would you know which fuel would be best to use? No? Because you're not a rocket scientist? Well, I'm not a trained professional paid to willingly put my life in this situation. Go figure.

Exactly, you have never been in that situation much less a paid professional which makes your view completely uniformed. I guarantee you no person will just stand there and assume a man charging you with a knife really doesn't want to hurt you. As you said, he seemed he wanted to commit suicide by cop. Why would he care if he killed an officer in the process just to get the cop to shoot him?

Completely worthless argument you should just stop using forever now on. What if you miss and hit someone else?

Miss shooting a guy in the leg? You aim lower? I imagine emptying a magazine into someone would increase the chance of accidentally shooting someone since you're increasing the frequency of this possibility.

Oh? It's that simple huh? Just aim lower? It's hard enough to hit a static target with a pistol while calm. Now try hitting a moving target who's coming at you with a knife and your adrenaline is pumping. Obviously you watch too many movies.

What if your shot is fatal but you hit something that isn't immediately fatal and he dies a slow painful death?

Slow painful death? Oh yeah, i forgot you don't have free healthcare. My bad. Usually we give morphine or induce commas here when people face "slow painful deaths". You have a point here.

Thank you
