Don’t get me wrong, in real life I have lots of friends who live at home in their 30’s, and lots who are totally independent and have families of their own in their early 20’s, and everything in between. No judgement at all, everyone is different and no one way is the right way, or works for everyone.

It’s not so much the characters personalities- some that seem much younger I actually prefer their personalities and share more interests with to the ones I considered for marriage, or even necessarily if they live at home or not (since most do - Shane and Penny seem older but live at home, and Hayley who doesn’t but seems young) it’s their dialogue about their life and experiences that suggests age to me. Those that seem much younger are Sam, Sebastian and Abigail and they seem (to me) like they are still in their teens, say maybe 16-18 ish. Maru and Emily, Hayley and Maru seem like maybe collage age, 18-22 ish (max). It would just be too much weirdness to marry one of them (perhaps especially for me as I work with that age group, plus the fact that I’d be between double to a third again those characters age). The rest all seem like maybe 24-35 ish which was fine.
