Pond rink resurfacing

Doesn’t seem like people are grasping the concept that there’s no hose or power readily available..

In my experience pond skating, your best bet is honestly going to be running buckets if you don’t have the budget for a pump set-up and no running water. I tried a couple manually operated pumps back in the day and they were all a waste of time, as a couple guys with buckets can flood a surface 10x faster.

When it comes to resurfacing ice, the temperature of the water is also ultimately the most important thing. Get some Home Depot buckets. Fill em with hot water and leave em in your car until you’re done skating. Dump them as evenly as you can and if you’re feeling ambitious you can try getting some extra filler from the edges of the pond but be careful to avoid picking up sediment.

Ultimately it’s just a labor of love. You either bust ass for mediocre results, or you have to spend the money to get great ones.
