Poor people of Reddit, what are some remarks you secretly hate hearing from people that are not poor?

"Man, I need a raise!" -Lazy office worker making 55K a year

"Man, I don't know if I can pay all these bills- it's getting really tough" -Says the office worker who buys new shoes and shirts every month, and has them delivered to the office.

"Man, with wages the way they are, I'll never be able to retire." -Says the man who makes 30K more than I do.

Do you people understand how offensive it is to me, that you can bitch from a position of such advantage and comparative power? There is a difference between having no choice and making the best of it, and taking on luxury and lifestyle jumps that make someone think they have no choice.

You can survive in a solid and comfortable lifestyle on 20K a year. I've done so on less ever since getting out into the "real" world. You might have to work harder for simple things, not buy useless shit and chase fads, and take serious care of your body (because you can't afford a trip to the ER) but it can be done. 3 years straight, and I've done it on 17K.

It is tremendously satisfying to watch yourself succeed in such conditions. There is an inherent reward to surviving against the odds with the right mindset, but it is also tremendously frustrating to watch others fail to grasp this. If you make 50,000 dollars, and spend every penny of it without planning ahead, I lose a tremendous amount of respect for you.

There are people who would kill for that opportunity, and you're wasting it. Don't bitch at me for having no money, or whine about not being able to make it to your next paycheck. You make much more money than I do- I got into this office by luck and desperation.

I will never disrespect the paycheck I am being given. Everything over 20K gets saved or invested. No exceptions.
