The “popular” kids in school were really just the kids with the least amount of social anxiety.

I mean as an adult I haven’t made many close friends, mostly just acquaintances besides 4 co-workers I’m close with and get drinks or play poker with.

All my other friends are just from high school and college. Luckily most have stayed in the Chicago area so easy to meet up. And we have our group chats we kept going so we stay in touch a lot between the group we’re close with. I guess that’s one benefit of having been overly social in school even though I didn’t like it. I have 12 close friends from high school nearby and we do a yearly weekend trip with together. And then a similar pool of friends from college. As long as we all don’t have to hang out at once besides that yearly trip I’m good with it.
