Was at fort drum also, over 10 years ago, back in the shared one room barracks rooms, 2 people to a big single room. one time i ordered pizza and i put my card i was going to be paying with/showing the driver if he asked to see the card onto the sink, which in those rooms is directly across from the entrance door, like 3 feet away, so i could grab it and show it to him when he knocked.

I went to sit back down at my desk and play on computer or whatever, and some other soldier who lived in the building did a knock on the door and then opened it to say hi to my roommate, and he walked in, and I guess saw my credit card on the sink right there and snatched it real quick. He hung out talking to my roommate and then left, and me being none the wiser didn't even think about the card.

turns out he was broke and needed gas, so he took it and drove down to the shopette to fill up, and then got brave and went to like Gander Mountain out by the mall to buy a few things he wanted also. By then i knew the card was missing, and I had pieced things together, confronted him the next day with a couple other guys. It was annoying though, brazen as fuck.
