No, It's not the same, and here's why:

  1. Taycan has a 2 speed transmission that shifts at 60mph. EPA tests range at 58mph which means they're likely stuck at the top of 1st gear for Sport / Sport+ driving modes, when 2nd gear is dramatically more efficient (1st gear is literally only for better acceleration on track and launching from 0). In Normal and Eco modes, 1st gear isn't used at all.

  2. Taycan also has active aero (front air intake flaps and rear spoiler, and lowering the ride height) that doesn't kick in until after 110 km/hr, and aerodynamics is a huge part of getting better range with EVs.
