Is it possible to go to Australia on a working holiday and earn $1000 a week?

Again personal attacks as you have no argument.

Mate, you completely misread my post. You know it. I know it, and it's rich for you to lead with a comment on personal attacks given that you've used them long before I creatively pointed out your error in comprehension. I'd made an argument and you skimmed it, misinterpreted what I was trying to say and now have gone off on a giant rant to double down on your mistaken impression.

You, like the rest of Australia need to accept how far we have fallen as a society and how badly we treat immigrants and lower income people who lack support networks. Do you think it would be easy for a migrant or person with poor language skills to secure cheap share accommodation ? The potential for being ripped off is also huge as in your pathetic example of how disgusting our society has become. Likely that house was set up by an immigrant who has told those guys that is how people live in Australia. Then they'll go home and say how racist white Aussies made them sleep in sub standard conditions. It makes me sick that people like you try and pretend that nothing is wrong.

You do realise that I just pointed out that EXACT problem, right?

Cheap share house arrangements in quality accommodation such as where you find yourself can be competitive and many share houses only want "trendy" people. For a foreign immigrant getting kicked out is a real possibility if you can't relate to housemates and be "cool" because of a language barrier. Very few people have the decency to set up a share house as a living arrangement where if you become friends later, great. Many treat it like a personality content and a way to make friends. Many people fall through the cracks and can't find such places. An ugly old man has very little chance as most share places are for people under 30. So your assertion that everyone can find and fit into a $150 a week share house like what you did in your early 20s and catch the 86 tram bro and get a ride with mates cause they're too cool to run a car is utterly ridiculous.

I'm on the other side of town. I'm not sure if you remember, but I pointed out earlier that some people rent for FAR less than the $100 I pay. Sharehouses may be somewhat 'exclusive', but slumming it for $40pw is possible if you don't have the same exacting standards that Australians think that they're entitled to. Willing to have a couple of room-mates, and you can quickly put away enough money to change your circumstances.

Also not everyone is meant to be sharing. Some people are bad housemates or want some degree of privacy. If that is the case you will be paying at least 300 per week.

No, you can find places for less than that. Single bedroom apartments in Melbourne's inner city start at under $200 per week, and we're still talking about people who are too fond of short commutes / trendy areas to look further afield.

If I were to move to Australia I would factor in at least 500 per week as the basic cost of living as proper adult who doesn't depend on others for things and takes responsibility, i.e proper insurance ect.

Insurance? Ok, sure, if you're not PR and you need Health Insurance, then I get it, but are you kidding? You're complaining about people getting ripped off by landlords, and on the other hand telling them to waste money on insurance, when trying to live cheaply? That's pretty contradictory.

As for needing $500 per week ... I just had a holiday in Tasmania for $900. I stayed in hostels, I went out to bars 3 nights. I paid to enter MONA and to catch it's ferry. I paid National Park fees and had a pretty great time, and I wasn't shy with my wallet. If it REALLY costs $500 per week to live in this country, then why does anyone bother renting, or cooking for themselves? Why don't we just go on permanent holiday? Because we're not massively misinformed like you are.
