possible midlife crisis

I see a lot of people advising you need to apply for multiple jobs per day.

As an ex recruiter both in-house and external I have to offer some caution on that approach.

If an HR company, or recruiter (agency) keeps seeing the same resume over and over, for what they (rightly or wrongly) consider to be jobs you aren't qualified for, then you will get a black mark against your name.

By all means go for volume but make sure they are jobs you can/should be applying for. Also, if you are SURE its a job you should be considered for, pick up the phone.

For every good resume there will be 50 non-relevant ones being picked through. A recruiter isn't tasked with interviewing every relevant individual, nor responding, they have to fill the gap for their client asap. That person might be the 10th CV they see, out of a list of 1000.

Don't take it personally, unfortunately it is a numbers game and things like warehouse roles will have 100's of applicants per.
