My dad was murdered, I take care of my mom with three types of cancer, I was diagnosed with esophogael cancer myself, my entire childhood was spent in a heroin household, I'm blind in my right eye, my ex of five years put a CPO out on me because I tried to kill myself when my mom tried to kill herself.

If the dude can't handle losing a job, he needs to get a damn grip because he hasn't faced reality at all. I handled my situation extremely poorly, make no mistake - I am not saying otherwise, but wanting to kill yourself over a paycheck is legitimately pathetic and he needs help. Sorry that sometimes harsh truth hurts.
