Post Blazed Glazed Intermission Thread 1: Everyone's in the 100 Club

A small glimpse at the future of the .org, which will hopefully have arrived by the time of Randomized White 2's start.

Message to VorpalNorman regarding a collaboration between him and twitchplayspokemon.org:

Hi. This is something that I really care about, making the .org the best that it can be and thereby providing the community with an accurate and useful information tool. I know you are dedicated to your work as well, so I want to get the specifics of what we are aiming to accomplish nailed down ASAP so I can submit my proposal to Mave and he'll hopefully make the necessary arrangements for you to work your magic so that everything works by the time RW2 starts.

Basic objective: I am hoping for what is essentially a merger between your site and the .org. It would be all hosted on the .org in order to maintain the necessary level of visibility for it to be useful to the community. It would have all the features of your API-interpreting site, but with the added "human" level of the .org, combining the best features of both. This would of course necessarily involve you being made an Updater on the .org, both in order to allow you to more efficiently implement your designs and as a thank-you for working with us.

Key features: Party and box Pokemon information is automatically updated via the Stream's API output. This removes one of the most time-consuming parts of a .org updater's job, which is searching through video archives to find footage of us capturing each Pokemon in order to record its data. It also prevents mistakes from being made, such as this past run where our Scolipede was listed on the .org as male when it was actually female, and no one noticed it was wrong until after the run. Other information output by the API, such as current money and other Trainer data, as well as the Defeat times of certain bosses along with the number of attempts taken to defeat them, would also be used by the .org to automatically fill in information that human updaters currently do manually. Human updaters would still be responsible for sections of the site such as Milestones, Win-Loss records against the Elite Four, and Pokemon fan nicknames.
