Post-Brexit UK: Country facing consequences of historic vote to leave EU

I've got a couple of clips here that could also add value to the Brexit discussion.

The first is Nigel Farage (who I believe was played on the show just last week) who admits that the claim by the Leave Campaign, that the £350 million a week* we send to the EU should be invested into the NHS (our socialist health care system), was a mistake. Now this is a strange situation. To some people in Britain who don't delve into the nitty-gritty of politics they may not understand that Nigel Farage is/was not an official representative of the Leave Campaign. The Leave Campaign said "no" to him, perhaps believing his presence to be too toxic. But a lot of people thought he was an official member of the leave campaign†, and some even believed he was leading it - in fact he even had a TV debate-thing with David Cameron on primetime TV just a week or two before the referendum. So in the statement below he quite legitimately says he was ostracized by the official Leave Campaign, but never the less people who didn't understand were angered by this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cA3XTYfzd1I

Second is a clip of Dan Hannan, a conservative Member of European Parliament (MEP) who was a part of the Leave Campaign. Immigration was a huge, huge issue in this referendum. Many, many people were concerned about immigration (from both inside and outside the EU) and its impact on their communities. Please google 'UKIP breaking point poster' for more info on this (note: not an official Leave Campaign poster, a UKIP poster). Many socialists and liberals were really angered by this poster and demanded Nigel Farage to apologize. Dan Hannan concedes with the vote being so close that the promise by the Leave Campaign, to "reduce immigration to the 10s of thousands", was actually not going to happen. Again a lot of people are angry about this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCghi2rVaWY

  • it was argued that this figure was incorrect. Also to see the Leave Campaign’s 'Battle Bus' Google Image Search 'leave campaign battle bus.' This statement was on the side of it.

†because of all the airtime he got. He was on TV an awful lot during the run-up to the referendum. Also to note; he is not a Member of the British Parliament (MP), I believe (please fact check this) he has tried to be elected seven times and failed. He was successfully elected an MEP (see clip on last week’s unfilter show).
