Post Game Thread: Columbus Blue Jackets at Tampa Bay Lightning - 12 Apr 2019

I have to say...

It's not often in sports history that I've been as shocked as I have been, these last 2 Tampa Bay games. I'm just... really astonished.

ESSENTIALLY:

We just finished the regular season, witnessing an amazingly jaw dropping HISTORIC and stunning top level performance, and goal scoring by an incredible array of super stars on this Tampa Bay team, that literally left all other NHL teams far behind in the dust...

Indeed: this Tampa Bay team performed at such a surprisingly elevated level, that people often said they deserved to be at a higher league all their own!

AND THEN...

To see them so unexpectedly...

So shockingly...

Just fall from grace like that... utterly unraveling, and performing so badly like that in front of their fans, just when it counts the most.

This is certainly something that will be talked about and analyzed, and re-analyzed, for YEARS and years to come in the hockey world.

These last 2 games really were a true historic event in the history of sports in the world.

AND SO...

although many of us like me were really initially hoping to watch and cheer on a "well deserved" Tampa Bay Stanley Cup drive for 2019...

Well, I guess so far we've already gotten our entertainment money's worth just 2 games in, by witnessing this shockingly historic meltdown of a super-team.

BUT YES...

I guess it's kinda like a prized top boxing fighter, taking down the biggest rivals in the sport, and then at the final match he faces, in a long series of opponents he's knocked down and pounded...

He himself then suddenly goes down with nothing more than one or two measly punches, from a feather light weight who barely even made it into the ring to challenge him.

So then... the next night he demands a rematch, and yet down he goes AGAIN, in the exact same way, with yet one single punch from that same light weight opponent.

Again, I think this kind of unraveling is going to be talked about for years.

It becomes the stuff of David & Goliath style legends!
