POST GAME THREAD: Guardians 10 @ White Sox 7 - Tue Sep 20 @ 7:10 PM

Why the condescending, sarcastic tone? If you disagree, cool. Let's discuss. But there's no need to start off a conversation this way.

Of course the whole country saw what happened in 2016, but winning the World Series was just the tip of the iceberg--and I don't think the average baseball fan from another city watched every the rebuild every step of the way. Starting in 2011 when the Cubs hired Epstein, Chicago sports fans got to see an incredibly successful rebuild play out through daily reports in the local media, thousands of hours of sports radio reporting and analysis, watching the games themselves as these guys were first breaking into the MLB, etc.

Even if you hated the Cubs, you couldn't help but be hyper-aware of everything going on with that team if you lived in this city. Especially since the Sox were bad during this stretch as well (and NOT doing anything meaningful to improve), it was all anyone talked about when it came to baseball.

I think in most Sox fans' minds, that established the archetype for how they expected it to play out. And in fact, I've heard countless people both in this sub and in the real world make the direct comparison and say things like "2020 will be our 2015," etc.
