POST GAME: Without KP, the New York Knicks (6-5) lose to the Orlando Magic (7-4), 112-99

I disagree wholeheartedly with the notion that his defense isn't bad. It's not terrible, but it's bad. I think what's weird about THJ is that he doesn't play a pretty game, and a lot of it doesn't make sense, so when it works, it still doesn't look like it works.

For example, the man shoots basically the same whether he has tight marking, open, or wide open. His best is still, obviously, wide open, but not by much, and technically, he's better when he's got a man on him tight than when he's technically "open" by a small margin.

He's a better pass and shoot guy, and his FG% when he touches the ball for less than 2 seconds reflects that, but he still takes an extra dribble and holds onto the ball a little longer for seemingly no reason sometimes, and that lowers his numbers a bit there. And obviously, he's very streaky, so that also can make it hard to watch sometimes. He's just a very strange basketball player in general.
