Post-Match Thread: Huddersfield Town 1 - 2 Arsenal

We were on the back foot nearly all game not because Emery set up defensively, but because we had serious issues keeping possession and playing out. It's been an issue all season, and something that Emery needs to work on. Simply put, we were pegged back because we had much less of the ball than we should have.

In particular, the right hand side with AMN and Mustafi kept giving the ball away even under no pressure. Disappointing from AMN as he's definitely better than that.

When we can't keep the ball, Iwobi and Mkhi have to be clinical or hold the ball up - but they're just not at that level and not that style of player.

Looking at that team we were forced to play today, it's simply not top-4 quality at all.

A midfield of Iwobi, Mkhi, Guendouzi, Torreira is not top-4 quality, and is worse than any of the top 6 - particularly for ball retention.

A defence of AMN, Mustafi, Koscielny, Monreal and Kolasinac is, player for player, the worst out of the top 6 by a reasonable distance.

As we all knew, we need some serious recruitment in midfield and defence in the summer. We have to target players who can pass well and retain the ball.
