Dude, no need to force yourself to enjoying it.
Thinking about it, I enjoy it most when I only watch the PPVs and check /sc every so often for updates to the storyline. I got back in to it around Rumble 2014, At the moment I basically skim RAW rather than watch it all. I'm the same age as you and I find 3 hours (6 if there is ppv) of wrestling a week is a lot, especially when your not enjoying it all.
If you are trying to get back in to it perhaps watching Raw every week isn't for you (it isnt for me), WWE is actually quite well positioned for casual fans who want to dip in and out.
Some things I enjoyed that aren't RAW. You'll need the Network:
*NXT pay per views. I'd watch them all in order, William Regal calling the Emma vs Paige match is one of the greatest things ever. Bayley's underdog story line is also great.
*The Shield VS Evolution: 2 awesome 6 man matches at extreme rules and payback in 2014. Kind of nice looking back and seeing them explode.
*Wrestlemania 30&31: Both were excellent. Highlights for me are Undertaker vs Brock, Reigns Vs Brock and the Daniel Bryan story.
*Cena: I got back in to wrestling after Cena dominated for so long so I don't feel the hate as much. It is a nice position to be in because his matches are can be really good. Brock Vs Cena at Summer slam 2014 is great - also kinda funny. They were on RAW so I don't know where you would watch him, but after Mania 31 he did 'open challenges' for the u.s title. They were great and really helped new talent shine, highlights for me were Cena Vs Nevelle and Cena VS Sami Zayn.
*Go back and watch old stuff! At the moment I'm really enjoying the older stuff. Rather than 3 hours of raw a week I usually watch 1 old match which is like 20 minutes instead. My fav so far are Brett Vs Austin at wrestlemania 13 (you can watch it with austins commentry too) , Micheals Vs Razor at wrestlemania 10 and Punk vs Cena at MITB.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, if you like some bits of WWE, like you enjoyed mania, then find the bits you like. I enjoy pay per views, NXT and the video games. There is so much content out there.
