[practice] How is your practice? (Week of December 25 2017)

I’ve been sitting meditating for between 5-20 mins when I first wake up and before I go to sleep. I often bring my attention to my breath throughout my day and try to consciously focus on what I’m doing in the moment. I’ve had profound changes in my life in terms of lifestyle. But had quite a few mistakes and occasional steps backwards as well. Quit smoking cigs, discontinued medication, went back to my former and missed version of myself that include qualities of quick wits, fun loving, optimistic, extreme appreciation and gratefulness. Also brought back some of the former negatives that come along with my typical manic self... went out a couple weeks ago to a rave and woke up in a hospital... I had been told I had overdosed and had become unresponsive and taken to the hospital in an ambulance.

As far as my meditation practice goes, I’ve noticed only just a slight amount of progress towards being able to concentrate and focus deeper and to a greater extent. The progress is barely noticeable but the lifestyle changes have been mostly very positive so I will continue practicing.

I know there’s some heavy stuff in this comment that this post prompted for me to go ahead and get off my chest.. any questions comments, suggestions, advice or feedback about any of this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading.
