Practice pulsing downwards with body without rushing?

Sounds like you’re trying to do too much at once. One egg in the basket at a time.

If you’re rushing, you should really slow the music down, and subdivide out loud (1 and, 2 and, 3 and, 4 and, etc). If you’re doing really slow music (under 100ish), I’d subdivide in triplets (1 lo ly, 2 lo ly, 3 lo ly, 4 lo ly, etc). Preferably use a metronome (they have free apps), yes the time will be straight, but you’ll be able to easily adapt it once you add that groove. Slowly build that muscle memory and groove, add some music in once you feel you’re not rushing that and.

Slow is always better when practicing. Slow practice is what will help you build muscle memory. Focus on one thing at a time, and then put them together. You can’t expect your body to just figure out 3 things at the same time. If you’re feeling that you’re rushing or throwing your timing off with other moves, it means you don’t have those or your pulse really solidified. I know it’s not a fun way to practice, but if you spend the time really breaking things down slow, and focusing on one piece at a time, you’ll find that you’re going to improve a lot faster.
