I neither upvoted nor downvoted. I love the notion of praying for our clergy and bishops, but strongly disagree with the tone of your post. The connotation that everything would be perfectly fine and the German clergy members would not have strayed from holiness if everyone just prayed for them. I think that boils the issues down way too much and takes away from healthy disagreement on issues that impact the church. While some think that issues around homosexuality and contraception for example are cut and dry, they’re largely not. Within the Church there has long been disagreement on these and other issues. Taking a look at the disagreement around contraception and the Church’s position on the matter in the mid-60s evidences this.
