There are many many many reasons why someone would be arrested and then "back on the street shortly thereafter", and the DA refusing to prosecute is typically the least likely to happen.

It's possible that the police either did something illegal leading to that arrest, they didn't have enough evidence to actually prosecute, or they simply had no reason for the arrest to begin with.

Yes, that is possible. It is also possible the officer in the article made a completely justified arrest, wrote a perfect report, and had more than enough evidence to prosecute, and the DA let them go.

I know this sub likes to shit on PPB, but even the most idiotic, stupid PPB officer has 10x the knowledge, understanding, and first hand experience with the law and DA than any of us in this sub ever have.
