I'm no stranger to dissent, and I don't think we can all get together and sing kumbaya and have everything turn to gold (not even on a national level, but especially not an international level. we are a long way away from that, if its even possible), but I do think we need a little bit of humility in terms of how much we understand of the situation (and that goes for leaders, followers, politicians, universities, religious pulpits, whatever) and a little bit of personal reassessment in terms of priorities. plenty of people are pointing fingers and trying to find the end point of blame, and that will never stop, but we also need people who are asking "what happens after the blame? what happens after we figure out what got us here?" and trying to figure that out, intellectually, economically, agriculturally, emotionally and physically.
