Preet Bharara under investigation by Turkey: report

Staged coup is a can of worms I'm not gonna open. Gulen is not an American citizen, he has a residence permit in the US. Peaceful is arguable in the protests as blocking the exit of the president but the fight the bodyguards started is inexcusable, they should have asked for US police for assistance.

Another way to look at is that it is a nation that is recognised as a valuable ally in NATO and by the US, hosts thousands of American Troops and bases that are being used against Isis and checking Russia as we speak, despite of the fact of US insistence on aiding local groups with agendas against it, Turkey still allows air missions from its soil/airspace to aid those groups.

The alliance is not as strong as it was before but on practice and on the ground it is still on going, I do not understand the insistence on seeing it become another hostile rival that would challenge US policy and security, I would expect people to try to keep it rather than try to burn it asap. those of us namely the anti-Erdogan Turks see the glee at which Turkey is made into a boogeyman as scary.
