Lol what BS. California is a huge state. When people talk crime in California they mean mostly LA and San Francisco where crime is certainly not in “the middle of the pack”. San Fran ranks in the top 2% of most dangerous cities in America according to the link at the bottom. The Same link also sights other massive crime increases in LA and other progressive cities for that matter.

By your logic, somehow taking people out of jail improves things as you site incarceration stats rather than crime. The problem is actually incarceration rates should be higher!

As for crime stats you are completely blind if you don’t see not only the massive spikes in crime but the direct consequences of policy. It is obvious. For LA San Fran and NYC btw.

As for your big city argument that is a cop out. NYC used to be safe. You don’t see hardly any crime in Tokyo do you?
