Again, I'm not saying to totally get rid of fossil fuels. I've even heard that we need to make oil cheaper so that poorer people can use it easier, resulting in solving poverty, which will result in society quickly developing and beginning to phase in renewable energy.

I see what you mean, but there doesn't seem to be much interest in the private sector for finding renewable energy. If we built CERN in conjunction with other countries, then I don't see why we can't do the same with developing sustainable energy. I keep seeing news articles about new discoveries with nuclear fusion, I could see that being a possibility. All in all, I think we will figure things out.
