President Obama sent me a letter

November 9, 2016

[redacted]

Dear [redacted],

\ Thank you for the letter you wrote me this summer. It reached my desk as one of the ten I read each night, and it meant a lot to hear that, despite your initial disappointment, my Presidency has made a difference for something you care so deeply about.

\ I was moved by the reflections you shared on the importance of our National Park Service, and I have been proud to build on the work of those people who came before me by supporting our natural resources and helping more people discover and explore the great outdoors. These sacred spaces have enriched the lives of Americans for generations, and I hope my efforts will encourage children like yours to make their own connections to the places that have shaped out history.

\ Again, thank you for you thoughtful message. Serving as your President has been the greatest privilege of my life, and you and your family have my best wishes.

\ God bless, \ BO
