Those votes are a projection. They’re are actually people from the electoral college that need to sign off on each state’s electoral count. Biden doesn’t officially become president elect until he gets at least 270 electoral college votes that are signed off by the entire electorate. It is annoying but we have to wait until (what I believe is) December 14th for the electors of all 50 states to formally cast their votes on the next President and Vice President.
Creepily enough, the people of the electoral college can actually cast votes contrary to what the people of their state voted. Super fucked up and extremely undemocratic.
