President Trump says Nato countries have agreed to spend more on military budgets

he said allies had committed to spending more than 2%

Mr Trump has previously urged Nato allies to commit at least 4% of their annual output (GDP). He said Nato chief Jens Stoltenberg had given "total credit" to him for the increased spending, which he said he instigated during his first Nato meeting last year. Mr Stoltenberg has yet to speak.

If memory serves the situation was they had a nonbinding agreement to pay 2% by 2020 and had yet to meet that requested amount.

If Trump is being truthful which yes is a leap at this point and NATO allies agreed to either immediately meet that 2% well ahead of the deadline or even exceed it then they will indeed have given Trump a win and I guarantee you there will be a resurgence in his base over this which could see him act bolder during this term and improves his chances for a second.
