The show portrays them as a bunch of innocent boys just hanging out in the park having fun, that stumble across a man getting beat up. It fails to mention they were a part of the bearings, and participated in it. Not only that, Raymond Santana was the ring leader of the group of 30 boys that were running around beating and mugging joggers. Nearly every boy there that night mentioned he was a ring leader, the police also observed it. Also Antron had beat a man over the head with a pipe, and Yusuf had stabbed a man. Several of the other boys they interviewed testified to this.

Even if they weren’t convicted for the rape, they still would have gotten in a lot of trouble like the other boys they were with did.
