Pretty harsh review of ToS CBT By Koreans

ITT: Old things are WAY better than new things! Let's stop using USB thumb drives and go back to floppies, and bring back the Commodore 64, too. Shit, why don't we use cassette tapes anymore, and what about my Hanson CDs?! I love me some MmBop. I've been wearing nostalgia goggles for so long that I think they've ACTUALLY fused with my face. Couldn't take them off if I wanted to.

My god, you people are frighteningly small-minded. I played RO for 9 years of my life, way longer than any other game, but I still have experienced and understand the appeal of the newer games. It doesn't HAVE to look like shit to be fun. No, really. What if I don't WANT to be limited by what skills I can take? What if I want all of them? Imposing a limit on that like RO does isn't "customization", it's just that: imposing a limit. I can't even count the number of times that I said to myself "God, if I just had x more skill points I could max Meditatio and Magnus Exorcismus, too." I guess if you HAVE to be a special snowflake, you can equip axes on your Assassin or be an autocast Blacksmith. You'll just never be able to do end-game content as effectively as a more conventional build. Hell, I understand this desire, I played with pure daggers on my assassin way before ice pick came around. It was an extremely expensive way to deal damage and most of the time people wtf'd at my super slow aspd. It was nigh-useless in WoE, because dagger damage was so potable.

What's funny is that I've had this argument with someone who thinks that RO even holds your hand too much. He played a perma-novice and lamented about how trans classes made the game too easy. I believe his exact words were "Like shitting down a well" He loved telling this story about how he killed some boss in Perfect World totally underleveled and undergeared by kiting it and poking it for an hour (which seems to me like it's less skillful playing on his part and more just shitty boss design, that sort of nonsense shouldn't be possible) There's just no pleasing some people.

I'll play this game for sure when it finally decides to make its way to the west, but it's unlikely I'll ever touch RO for any extended period of time again. It was fun while it lasted, but most memories are best left as memories. You enjoy them as they happen, but trying to relive them is stupid. Alright, bring on the nostalgia-fueled downvote brigade, I'M READY.
