Pretty insane fps for RTX 3070/1440p/Ultra rtx balanced and performance? Around 70 and 90. It’s also accurate because it’s most definitely running above 60 fps.

So ultra settings but no DLSS? That seems to run similar to RTX on ultra w/ dlss. I also think the resolution looks wayy better, but I can’t live without the ray tracing on this game.

Also, I had a 1070/3600 for a while. Totally powerful rig man. Basically the exact same as yours. It could max Metro 2033 Redux at 144 fps 1440p w/ tessellation and high settings, get 97 fps in 1440p Ultra “Shadow Of War”, 117 fps in Metro Exodus medium settings, etc. it was a beast rig. It also got 144 fps in Hellblade Ultra Settings until weird performance issues later in the game that I also had with my previous 2070s. And a solid 60 fps on Dark Souls 3 in ultra settings.

I’ve just been upgrading each generation of 070 card as opposed to getting a *80 or *80ti/90/titan and keeping it longer. Well, kind of, but not on release lol. I actually did a lot of upgrading in a short time. I went RX 580 October 2019 (had it like 3 weeks)-1070 November 2019-RTX 2070S April 2020- 3070 February 2020.

I actually gamed the most on the 1070. I had just got a gaming pc only a few weeks before, and the 1070 melted my brain compared to the RX 580. The RX 580 could barely run 1080p 60 fps, and every game I waa playing got over or close to 100 fps, sometimes only requiring running medium settings etc., which I didn’t mind doing, being new to pc gaming anyway. I beat a BUNCH of games on my 1070, quite a few on the 2070S, and I have played with the 3070 for like an hour total in the past month, but that’s because a lot of the time the pc wasn’t even together, and Im crazy busy with school and also moving.

But the 1070 was an amazing experience. I mean that thing, to me, was a 1440p card. That’s why I’m kind of confused as to how a 3070 is STILL really just a 1440p card. I mean it’s = 2080ti and they are both now 1440p cards when even the 1080ti used to be called a 4k card.

Also kind of funny because the 1070 was probably the most satisfying card. It was a used Zotac mini that ran at 67C and hit 2ghz boosts, and I got manufacturer refurbished for like 175$. But the thing just so massively exceeded my expectations that it just felt so powerful. Like I said, 97-144 fps in every game I played on it, except DS 3, which ran at a perfectly smooth locked 60 fps in Ultra settings. It was so much fun gaming on that thing.

The 2070s was a big let down because with how good the 1070 was, I expected an easy 144 on everything on high or ultra, and that’s the only reason I even got it. Because I was not unhappy with the 1070 performance, but you know how we are sometimes. Well, the level of upgrade was kind of like this: 118 fps in Exodus with the 1070 in 1440p on medium, to 138 fps on the 2070s in high settings. So it just felt kind of an underwhelming boost. With Gsync etc., 118 fps felt just as smooth as 138, and medium-high was noticeable, but not earth shattering.

Thankfully the 3070 seems like more of an upgrade from both of them. I’d say the 2070s is closer in power to the 1070 than it is to the 3070 for sure, at least IME.
