Pretty Rain!!

So I'm trying to get a cheapass flight computer setup running before I start getting into XC flying next summer. I've got XCSoar running on a little and ancient android phone (my partner's old LG Optimus 1), but a brief test "in the field" convinced me that it failed on both sunlight-readability and screen size counts. So it's time to hunt down a more suitable device, and I'm looking for advice.

My poking around on the net informs me that the venerable Dell Streak 5 seems to be the "gold standard" for sunlight-readable platforms to use as a flight computer. But here in Australia they seem to be in very short supply... I've not seen a single one on ebay or gumtree in the weeks that I've been hunting (except for one seller in the US with a starting bid of over AU$100 + AU$40 postage, and an optimistic soul asking some $500 for one). I did also find a Dell Streak 7 for $80, but according to reviews it has a different and dramatically inferior screen to the Streak 5, so I guess that is a no-go as well. My budget is definitely under $100 - which for secondhand Android devices would provide plenty of options if I didn't care about it being sunlight-readable.

So I ask: are there any other phones/tablets that you can recommend for running XCSoar, with a good readable screen under soaring conditions, that I might have a chance of finding for under AU$100? Any thoughts or tips?
