The prevailing tone and content of this sub is now midwit takes on mainstream topics

Most of us are old enough to have come to terms with “midwit takes” now

What would be better? A sub that mirrored all of A&Da twitter interactions/follows? And all their podcasts and what they talk about there? Would that be cutting edge enough discourse?

This is what getting old is in the online world. I miss 2014 and knowing about million dollar extreme, the last psychiatrist and SoundCloud rap before most did too, when you could truly comfortably distance yourself from the Redditor brand. I remember like the little dweeb I am, searching “playboi carti” in r/HHH in 2015-16 and feeling good about knowing about actually cool shit and not stuff redditors liked.

Dasha was on succession and had her movie reviewed by RLM. Chapo got big 6 years ago. Meme formats that had edgy connotations (ie deep fried instagram meme, all the homies etc) are now sickening redditor blandness.

This is all for the best! Whatever you had invested in this kinda online taste elitism wasn’t worth keeping.
