Previous skeptics of Self-help books - what book actually helped you?

The accountability aspect is what convinced me to go. I had read many books, but never did the exercises in those books consistently enough to solve problems. My thought was with therapy I would be facing my problems at least once a week.

I found therapy to provide much more than accountability or what I found in books.

The therapist nailed many things about me in just a visits. Things I could not/did not see, that I still remind myself of to avoid from falling into the same traps.

It also afforded me the opportunity to say many things aloud, feel validated for it, and get feeback. Very therapeutic and I never would have gotten that out of a book.
