I don't care that Pride exists, I just don't like it being the "showcase" of the gay community.

It should be called the FuckFreak Sex Parade.

I've done sex work before, so I really am not a prude, I just don't like the image that pride gives off. It really sends the wrong message to the general public.

If you are from Toronto you won't see these effects, but in other parts of the GTA and Ontario, that still cover the parade, it may be some of the only "contact" with gay people / gay culture they see, and they rightfully assume shit.

I worked at a gas station in a small town outside of Toronto when I was younger(not too long ago) and every time pride happened people would be making comments about it. Because it can be way too over the top and flamboyant, which isn't what Canadians are like in general, including gay Canadians.

Celebrating sex is fine, but celebrating sex while representing an entire group of people is wrong. Pride used to be about rights, and getting the public used to gay people, but I don't think the public needs to get used to half naked people grinding on each other to Mariah Carey songs.
