Prince Harry is allowed to bring his foreign spouse to the UK – unlike over a third of British people

Prince Harry has an income over the threshold.

Surely that isn't the point of this article though..

One third of British people would never be able to get married to who they want because the UK has set arbitrary rules on who is allowed to get married purely on their ability to earn (or save) above a certain wage in the UK. It goes without saying a member of the royal family will be within these thresholds.

Twenty-five years ago I brought my foreign wife to the UK. She was allowed in on an engagement visa, and once I followed all the visa requirements we were able to get married and she was able to work there. Three years later, we made the decision to move to her country, and the visa process there was as straightforward for me as it was for her in the UK. What the hell has happened in the last 25 years to make this such an unpleasant experience in the UK now?

Your own rights as a British citizen are being undermined by policy that seems to me to be somewhat racist (it would be quite difficult to get a source for this, but I suspect this particular policy was initially aimed at arranged marriages), but has been sustained by the idea that the UK shouldn't be supporting scroungers and/or foreigners (especially those that have managed to get citizenship) playing the system.
