Why? Because assault rifles are black and "scary looking"? Automatic weapons should definitely be banned. They're unnecessary for civilian use and impractical. Burning through ammo is stupid and expensive. It also seems like bump fire stocks should be banned or regulated too based on the recent incident.

But banning weapons based on the way that they look is stupid. Are we going to ban Ruger Mini 14s with wood furniture too? It shoots the same 5.56 cartridge as AR-15s and can accept 30 round magazines.

We are raised and told not to judge people based on the way that they look, yet liberals keep doing it with guns. A gun's appearance does not affect its killing potential. The AR-15 is a civilian version of the military M16. It's semi-automatic only. Semi-automatic weapons are great for their ease of use in self-defense and home defense situations and every person has the right to life and liberty whether you're straight, gay, male, female, transgender, white, black, whatever. They also give civilians the technological edge to defend themselves from a tyrannical government. An armed population is a strong deterrent against tyranny.
